Summary of Duties/Responsibilities The Medical Operations Planner will provide medical director experience and expertise for Northern Strike exercises. The Medical Operations Planner will ensure medical scenarios and training are doctrinally correct within the Joint Operating Environment. The Medical Operations Planner will ensure readiness building opportunities for all services and components to achieve or sustain proficiency in conducting sustainment of deployed forces, conducting joint fires, and conducting intra-theater airlift in a joint, multinational, decisive action environment that is scalable to meet unit requirements. Northern Strike is a JCS J7/JNTC accredited, Headquarters Department of the Army sponsored, and National Guard Bureau managed joint Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFEX). Northern Strike 2024 (NS24) has a planned execution of 03 17 August 2024. Northern Strike is one of the Department of Defenses largest reserve component readiness exercises, is scheduled to take place across Michigan from August 5-19. Over 7,000 participants from 25 states, 1 territory and several international partners will converge at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center (NADWC) for training focused on expeditionary skills, command and control, sustainment and joint integrated fires. The NADWC encompasses the Camp Grayling Maneuver Training Center and the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center. NS participants are also conducting training at Selfridge Air National Guard Base and Oscoda-Wurtsmith Airfield. Unique to this years exercise design is the integration of Intra-Theater medical care training, where NS participants will evacuate simulated patients to Fort McCoy, Wisconsin for follow-on treatment. The exercise utilizes a 720-day Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) contains several events that ensure successful execution. These events allow participating units to coordinate, synchronize and identify deficiencies. Planning the exercise is the responsibility of the Northern Strike Planning Group (NSPG). Mandatory Qualifications Prior to exercise execution, contractor shall assist with the development of medical evacuation training scenarios, coordinate with Northern Strike Plans Group exercise planners, coordinate with Michigan Army and Air National Guard leadership, and ensure medical plan is supported and linked to exercise Global Medic. Have experience as a planner and exercise medical director for large scale Joint Medical training events is required Experience at a battalion level or higher, and experience with military medical planning. Prior military medical planning experience. Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare for, and conduct, monthly synchronization meetings with Northern Strike Plans Group, Global Medic, and Michigan Air National Guard leadership. Be required to regularly travel throughout the year to attend Joint Exercise Lifecycle Conference events to coordinate with participating units, exercise enablers and the planning team to fully develop and communicate the medical training scenarios. Be responsible for working with Northern Strike Safety Officer on medical trend analysis and sick call reporting. During exercise execution, generally in 4th Quarter of every Fiscal Year, the contractor is required to be present for the entire duration of the exercise, to include weekends and any foundation/academy requirements on the front or rear of the exercise. On site requirements at execution are normally four weeks or less as determined by the exercise leadership. Post exercise execution, the contractor shall deliver a written report that presents training objectives achieved at the exercise. This qualitative analysis may generate a classification of products and correspondence above UNCLASSIFIED, and the contractor will manage this with staff assistance to ensure spillage does not occur. Provide with the RFQ as part of government evaluation requirement. Resume shall show prior military experience within five years.
