Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department ROLE As an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver research-based standards of nursing care. You will take a leadership role in coordinating nursing care and work in partnership with Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs), providing supervision, direction, and guidance to deliver patient care. Additionally, you will support and guide nursing peers and patients in managing their healthcare, rehabilitation, or end-of-life needs. Maintaining a professional development portfolio with a commitment to ongoing learning and development is essential. REQUIREMENTS 1. **Current Registration with AHPRA or In-Principle Approval:** - Valid and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or in-principle approval to practice nursing in Australia. 2. **Experience:** - A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Critical Care or Emergency Nursing environment, demonstrating hands-on experience and competency in urgent care settings. 3. **Educational Qualifications:** - Post Graduate Certificate in Emergency Nursing is desired, or evidence of working towards this qualification. This indicates specialized knowledge and a commitment to professional growth. 4. **Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards:** - Adherence to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care (ACQSHC) National standards to ensure safe and high-quality healthcare delivery. 5. **Clinical Skills:** - Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills, crucial for assessing situations, making informed decisions, and implementing appropriate interventions. 6. **Communication and Customer Service Skills:** - Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members. - Strong customer service skills, reflecting empathy, patience, and professionalism in patient care. 7. **Teamwork and Independence:** - Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
