Position: Registered Veterinary Nurse Location : Fareham, England, United Kingdom Contract Details : Full-time Role Overview: You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients. You will work closely with our team of veterinarians and support staff to ensure the well-being and comfort of our animal patients. Your duties will include assisting with surgeries and procedures, monitoring and administering medications, providing nursing care, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. The position is based on an average 40-hour week with a 1 in 4 weekend shift pattern. Typical working hours will be: Monday Friday: shifts between 08h00 19h30 Saturdays: 08h00 18h00 Sundays: 10h00 16h00 (closed on Sundays) Key Responsibilities: - Assist veterinarians with surgeries and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are prepared and ready - Monitor patients during and after procedures, recording vital signs and reporting any abnormalities to the veterinarian - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian - Provide nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, including wound care, bandage changes, and administering fluids - Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including nutrition, medication administration, and post-surgery care - Maintain accurate and thorough medical records for all patients - Assist with diagnostic procedures, such as x-rays and blood work - Keep the clinic clean and organized, including patient areas, treatment rooms, and surgical suite - Participate in continuing education and stay updated on industry advancements and best practices Qualifications and Skills: - Must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with a valid license to practice in the UK - Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Veterinary Nurse - Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and medications - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Compassionate and empathetic towards animals and their owners - Proficient in computer skills and experience with veterinary software is preferred We Offer: - Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications - Generous benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off - Opportunities for professional growth and development - Supportive and collaborative work environment - State-of-the-art facilities and equipment If you are passionate about providing exceptional care to animals and are looking for a fulfilling career in the veterinary field, then we want to hear from you!Â
